Simmi Shergill's life is a mess. Her powers of psychic feeling are on the fritz, and Grandon Township's sudden population boom has brought quite a few unsavory characters to town. She also looks like an over-blown balloon in her size 14 pants, but not even starving herself seems to be helping.

At least she has Alex, the boyfriend who loves her so much he'd do anything for her. Last summer, he even risked his life to protect her from the mysterious boy everyone was convinced wanted to kill her.

Just one problem: she's not so sure she feels the same way. Is Alex really the man of her dreams? Why can't she stop fixating on her would-be killer, Dax? Part of her wants to run screaming in the other direction whenever Dax is around, while the other part longs to run into his embrace, no matter whom she'd hurt or what she'd risk.

Simmi's loyalty is on the line. Whom will she choose—the blind seer who loves her, or the charming telekinetic with "bad idea" written all over him? Emotions run high in the tension-packed book two of the Farsighted series.

 

Let me tell you, that this was a very complicated book for me to rate, first I loooved the book, the stories are so real, the characters deal with so many issues that any teenager deals with, and me as a mother was scare about thinking that sooner than I think my kids will be dealing with this kind of stuff.

This is the sequel of Farsighted, awesome is that, in the first book we get into this world through Alex's pov, now we do it through Simi's view, and first you will find Simmi very likeble, but with every page, arggg I wanted to kill her, so insecure and immadure, not seeing what the right decisions were, but then I realize that she is a teenager!! you know and sometimes teenagers are so mean and crazy and confused, and I was amaze by the way Emlyn Chand is able to integrate so very real issues of teenagers life to a magical and mystical world.

If you liked Farsighted you must definitely read this book, also I can't wait for the next books in this series.

So, when I start reading this book, it was actually refreshing, reading a book from a teenager boy point of view, was awesome, different, exciting, and as I just say it was refreshing. Alex is a pretty much normal boy, what I loved about him and all the characters in this book is that they are pretty real, they are not perfect, better of all they are not saints, they, as almost all teenagers, are selfish, selfconcern, insecure and immature. That's why sometimes I just wanted to close the book and stop reading it, but the story in itself was so alluring I just couldn't stop.

 

Emlyn Chand is an awesome writer, she use reality, she use fantasy and pulls them together, and she gets great results. I really enjoy this book, because it makes you see reality through the "eyes" of a blind kid, and how this fact doesn't affect the common issues of a teenager, he falls in love, he is jelous, he has fears and over all he has amazing friends. I strongly recommend you to get into the Farsighted world, it is magic, and enchanting. You will totally love some characters, and totally hate another, but you will enjoy it a lot.

Black City by Elizabeth Richards, ARC Review.

First of all I want to thank so much Damaris of Good Choice Reading who lend me this book a couple a weeks ago, she even send it all the way here!!! Thank you Dee promise I'll send it back asap.

I'll tell you the story, I read Dee's review of Black City on Goodreads You can read it here... , and as soon as I read that review I was all excited about this book, Dee is a very honest reviewer, so I trust her judgment, and then as a very good friend she lend it to me!! so THANKS!!

Now lets do business. I am not ususally drag into post-apocalyctic or dystopian books, but recently I've been reading a lot of them, so I'm kind of starting liking the gender. And Black City was an excelent dystopian book.

While reading this book I imagine myself in a dark world, with dust, destroyed buildings, almost no sunshine, insecurity, mean people, bad goverments; and I realized, that unfortunatelly we are not so far away from this; yes Elizabeth Richards wrote fantasy, and yet wrote reality. Discrimination, segregation are things that happen and that have been happening for ages, and so this is the amazing of this book, it makes you think, it makes you wonder what else can you do to be a better person. I loved this book, I love when an author makes me go beyond what is written, and think about how can the story teach me something.

So faith is one of the lessons, never loose faith and never stop fighting for justice and fairness.

Ash and Natalie, make a perfect couple, they both are protectors, they take care of the ones they love, they both have fears, but most important neither of them are perfect, which makes perfect sense in a such unperfect world.

Natalie is kind of a spoiled child, even the hard events she has been through, she has not notice yet how hard the life is for the ones, that does not have an emmisary as a mother, she will learn it and grow up.

Ash has all the thing I love in a male mc, he is not good, not evil, he is the bad guy, but he loves his family and friends, and he feels lonely, and hasen't realized how strong he really is.

All the characters are well written and you get to know them pretty well, and you will hate them or love them.

You will cry, will feel fear, will fall in love and in the end, you will be dying the read the sequel.

I totally recommend you this book.

Hola, pues aquí estoy con mi reseña de Crescendo, para empezar quiero decir que estoy fuera de casa y mi formato para las reseñas no lo tengo aquí; además es tanta la expectativa de un par de chicas maravillosas ( Pau_Bascur y CassieWayland) que he decidido escribir esta reseña 100% de corazón y como vaya saliendo, ya si hay spoilers o no pues ni modo, como sea espero que les guste y sobre todo que tengan tantas ganas como yo al final de leer el tercer libro d e esta excelente serie de Becca Fitzpatrick. Por supuesto todo esto, es posible gracias a un blog que me encanta Good Choice Reading, producido por 3 chicas extraordinarias, en donde gané en un concurso el ARC de Crescendo; le mando un saludo muy especial Dee, a quien espero también le guste la reseña, por cierto, los invito a todos vayan a Good Choice Reading http://goodchoicereading.blogspot.com/ por que pueden encontrar buenísimas reseñas y excelentes concursos!!

Yo ya tenía muchas expectativas sobre este libro, Hush Hush, ha sido uno de los mejores libros que leí a principios de este año, la relación amor-odio entre Nora y Patch me cautivo desde el primer momento, pero sobre todo esa atracción que se dio apenas en instantes es tan increíble como real, quiero decir a quien no le ha pasado que tan solo ver a un chico o chica ya te sientes completamente atraído hacia tal?, Y bueno Hush-Hush nos deja con un buen sabor de boca al final, la tranquilidad de que se quedan juntos a pasar el verano es genial, sin embargo todos nos dimos cuenta que no iba a ser sencillo, quiero decir todos menos Nora. Nora creía que todo iba a ser miel sobre hojuelas pero era obvio que ahora Patch como su ángel guardián debía cumplir ciertas reglas, reglas muy estrictas que Nora desconoce por completo; y en Crescendo se va enterando poco a poco que su noviazgo con Patch está mas que próximo a ser condenado. Y Nora no solo tiene que lidiar con esto y con como se siente con Patch, si no que aparté esta empezando a ver a su Papá; sí su papá quien murió hace poco más de un año, bueno pues Nora lo anda viendo vagar por la ciudad y siente que se está volviendo loca; sin embargo con todo lo que ha vivido ahora cree que todo es posible. Y casi todo lo es, Patch está empezando a alejarse de Nora y todo para acercarse a una archienemiga escolar de Nora, la sexy y molesta Marcie; y Nora obvio muere de celos, está enojada con Patch y con todos, así que ella también busca sin darse cuenta consuelo en otros lados hmmm. En fín el asunto es que todo este libro se vuelve un enredo, pero un enredo divertido e interesante nada de lo que Becca F. escribe se siente jalado de los pelos, todo se siente correcto y con razón, nada escrito por relleno todo tiene su motivo. En este libro hay que desconfiar de quien mas confíes y dejarte llevar aunque sea un poco hasta por tus peores enemigos, quizás al final te podrían ayudar (consejo para Nora). El libro me encantó incluso puedo decir que es mejor que Hush-Hush en muchos aspectos, a pesar de que el romance entre Patch y Nora está condenado, ellos encuentran sus momentos a solas, momentos super sexys y emocionantes con ganas de que Becca nos llevará un poquitín mas allá pero debemos dejar esta lectura todavía en la sección YA. Las intrigas están a la orden del día, yo no podía dejar de leer, siempre queriendo saber que iba a pasar, se develan los misterios de cómo y por que murió el papá de Nora y Nora descubre que sus padres le han guardado un secreto desde su nacimiento. En este libro me emocioné, grité y sobre todo me enojé con Nora, lo único que no hice fue llorar; pero la verdad es que este es un libro que te hace pasar por casi todos los estados de animo, Becca como siempre es una experta para describir escenarios, pero sobre todo emociones, te hace enamorarte de los personajes y querer saber mas y el final, bueno el final ni siquiera es un final solo quieres voltear la pagina pero yo no hay mas, solo nos queda esperar hasta el siguiente libro de la serie.
